Vicky Kaushal is an indian actor born on 16 May 1988 in Mumbai’s small 10 by 10 chawl. His father’s name is Sham Kaushal who was a stuntsman and an award winning action director in bollywood. He has a younger brother ‘Sunny Kaushal’ who worked as an assistant director now an actor. He belongs to a hindu punjabi family. In childhood he was just another kid from streets who loved playing cricket, watching movies and had a typical middle class goal to be an engineer.
Although, he used to participate in school fests, dramas, fancy dress competitions but he only became passionate and serious towards acting after completing the college.
So once when Vicky was 10 years old, he got the chance to visit the film set where his father was assisting other actors in an action sequence. It was the first time he saw Hritik Roshan on the set of ‘Fiza’, he was such a fan and wanted to meet him desperately.
After waiting for an hour he got bored watching retakes and felt like playing cricket.

So the Vicky Kaushal’s journey has been very interesting. Like other Engineering students he went to pay the industrial visit to understand the kind of work they will do rest of their lifes. But soon he realized that sitting hours in front of the computer isn’t his cup of tea. He needed a kick in his life, so that very moment he decided to explore more about drama and acting which he was already during his college days.
After a few months, he decided that acting is something he can pursue as a career. Therefore, he needs to see and learn what exactly happens behind the scenes.
So he started visiting production houses and one day he met Anurag Kashyap in Andheri office. A few months later he got the chance to assist ‘Anurag Kashyap’ on Gangs of Waseypur. Next year he joined acting institute, attended a few workshops and at the same time he worked with theatre groups like Manav Kaul’s Aranya and Naseerudin Shah’s Motley.
Later, he started giving auditions but he couldn’t crack anything, it was frustating, nothing was happening. Even then he continued struggle and the day came when he got his first break in ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ in 2012. It was a very small role. In 2013, he got a chance to work as a lead actor in a short film called ‘Geek’ directed by ‘Vasan Bala’. Then couple of years passed and he was cast in couple of movies ‘Zubaan’ and ‘Masaan’ in 2015.
In Masaan he played the role of Deepak Kumar, opposite Richa Chadda and Sanjay Mishra, the movie was loved by the masses and Vicky Kaushal started to gain popularity and fame.
After Masaan, Vicky’s career started to rise, he got more films like Bombay Velvet and Nawazudding Starrer Raman Raghav 2.0. The films were produced by ‘Anurag Kashyap’. The film Raman Raghav was based on a real events of a serial killer who killed as many as 40 people back in 1960’s era. In the same film Vicky played the character of a cop who had substance abuse habit.
As per Vicky, the main turning point in his career was movie Sanju which was based on the life of Sanjay Dutt. The reel character was played by Ranbir Kapoor though.
