Netflix’s latest series, ‘Tires’, a six-episode comedy series premiered on May 23, 2024. Set in the backdrop of an automobile garage, ‘Tires’ revolves around Will, a meek and unfit owner to a car repair chain, Valley Forge Automotive. He makes an effort to save his father’s company despite constant bullying from his cousin, Shane. ‘Tires’ is a lighthearted show with a simple narrative. It is directed by McKeever while Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben co-created and scripted the show. Plot Summary
The stand-up comedian, Shane Gillis’s latest show called, ‘Tires’ is a comedy-drama about a guy named Will (Steve Gerben) who runs an auto-repair shop owned by his father. Kilah (Kilah Fox) is a receptionist who seems to be always smoking around and then there is Cal (Chris O’Connor) who is a decent employee at the garage. Famous comedian Andrew Schulz also made some guest appearances in the show. He finds himself in a pickle when the shop fails to attract customers which results in a huge loss for the company. Struggling to drive profits he is often seen being bullied by his cousin Shane (Shane Gillis) who is a constant bully and a big hurdle in Will’s success. Dave, Will’s father’s assistant, devises a strategy to upscale the sales. He recommends a cheaper oil change, which fails miserably. It attracted the worst customers as Will thought it would. Customers basically came for the reduced oil change services. They refused to use any of the remaining services.

Anthony is a graphic designer. He helps Will in his power point presentation. Will is eager to pitch the ‘cheap tires’ idea to his dad and for that he decides to create a powerful presentation to sell his idea, hoping that he would appreciate it.

Cal informs Will that his dad is about to sell one of their shops, either Belmont or theirs. When Will calls the other stores, he learns that there are 15 other humiliating rumours about him circulated in the stores and that Shane is responsible for spreading them.
Who Brings Up the Idea for ‘Bikini Car Wash’?
When Shane shows Will the Chiropractor videos featuring a beautiful girl, he explains to him its marketing strategy that focuses on visual appeal that helped to gain a million views. Shane then comes up with an idea for ‘Bikini Car Wash’. He suggested if customers would say ‘yes’ to the car wash idea, they would offer them a discount on tyres. Shane was sure about the idea that it was going to work. Hence, keeping their fingers crossed, they decided to go ahead with the bizarre idea.
Who Is Lydia?
Lydia is one of the representatives of Marilyn Mufflers, the one who is called upon by John to sell one of his franchises. She visits Valley Forge Automotive to assess the situation and take note of the things. In the end, she finds out about the ‘Bikini car wash’ initiative and sets out to expose Will. He fails in his attempt to stop Lydia and eventually gets into a heated argument with her. She threatens Will and his team that she would fire everyone the moment she takes charge of the things.

Will finally decides to use the ‘Bikini car wash’ strategy to earn profits. It does brings them profit plus embarrassment as Will’s dad learns about Shane and Will’s weird initiative. He angrily storms into the store and asks him to hand over the keys. After firing Will, Shane stands up for his cousin and he explains to John that Will’s marketing idea to sell cheap tires was a good one. From being a bane in Will’s life he eventually turns into a boon for him. He shows him the numbers how they have gone up in the last three months. He also informed him that the people who came to buy cheap tires got extra work and the one who bought cheap oil got no work. John approves of the idea and finally agrees to call his son as he gives his idea a nod.
