Plot Summary
The Tyrant is a Korean drama that takes you into a tense world of spies and danger. The story begins when a secret project by the South Korean government, aimed at boosting human abilities, is uncovered by U.S. intelligence. This project, known as the Tyrant Program, becomes the centre of a failed plan to secretly hand over a powerful bioweapon. The situation worsens when an unknown person steals the weapon.

What Happens When The National Intelligence Service (NIS) Raids Dr. Jonas’ Lab?
A group from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) launches an attack on Dr. Jonas’ laboratory. Their mission is to stop an unlawful serum project. Amid the confusion, the team successfully captures the last remaining sample of the serum. Dr. Jonas and his staff make desperate attempts to erase all traces of their work, but one important sample remains intact. At the same time, a talented safe-cracker named Chae Ja-gyeong, who has Dissociative Identity Disorder, is employed by Yeon Mo-yong to retrieve the vault containing the serum. Even after being deceived and pushed off a dam by Mo-yong, Ja-gyeong survives and manages to keep the serum safe.

What Happens To Chae Ja-Gyeong After She Survives The Betrayal?
After being betrayed and thrown off a dam, Chae Ja-gyeong finds herself in a hidden clinic, seriously injured and barely conscious. The clinic is dimly lit, filled with old medical tools, and has a secretive atmosphere. A rough-around-the-edges doctor quickly patches her up. Even though she’s in a lot of pain, Ja-gyeong hands over some cash and a precious serum she managed to keep hidden.Curious about the serum, the doctor contacts a friend named Song to see how much it might be worth. They soon discover that Ja-gyeong is a wanted woman with a big bounty on her head, making her a target for many groups. This conversation is overheard by Director Choi and the NIS, who immediately send agents to capture her.
As Ja-gyeong tries to rest, a group of armed men finds her at the clinic. These are the same ruthless men who were responsible for her father’s death. Without hesitation, they kill the doctor, turning the situation deadly. Despite her injuries, Ja-gyeong realises she has to fight to stay alive. An intense fight breaks out. Ja-gyeong cleverly uses her surroundings, showing her combat skills and quick thinking. Chae Ja-gyeong tracks down Hangom, an arms dealer linked to a Russian gang. She heads to his hideout, a place packed with weapons and illegal stuff, hoping to find Mo-yong. During their chat, Ja-gyeong learns her father was killed while working with the NIS, which makes her even more determined to get revenge. Hangom almost gives her a gun and bullets for free, but just as she’s about to leave, his men attack.

This hints at a bigger scheme, possibly involving the government and Director Choi. The situation gets tense when Lim shows up and kills everyone except Ja-gyeong, keeping her at gunpoint. Ja-gyeong, being sharp, points out that she knew Lim was behind the deaths of Mo-yong’s men in Busan because he smelled like gunpowder and blood. They both pull out their guns and shoot at the same time, narrowly missing each other. A fierce fight breaks out, and both get hurt.
After catching their breath, Ja-gyeong admits her only goal is to kill Mo-yong. Lim, who has just learned that Mo-yong is back and causing trouble, suggests they work together to find him first. Ja-gyeong agrees, and their uneasy partnership begins. Later, when Paul’s superhuman agent, the Alligator, attacks Ja-gyeong, Lim manages to take him down. But in the chaos, the vial with the serum breaks, and Ja-gyeong ends up infected with the virus.
