Recap of Shahmaran Season 1
Shahsu, a psychology teacher from Istanbul, travels to Adana to confront her long-lost grandfather, Davut, who left her mother many years ago. In Adana, she gets involved with the Mar community, who worship Shahmaran, a mythical being that’s part woman and part snake. Shahsu meets Maran, a member of this group, and their relationship becomes complicated. Maran’s family, the Basilisks—part human and part snake—think Shahsu is key to a prophecy that could save humanity.

The prophecy says Shahmaran will come back if a Basilisk and a chosen human “love each other to death.” Shahsu faces a big choice that involves going to the underworld. What Challenges Must Shahsu Face To Fully Return After Lilith’s Revenge?
Underwater, Shahsu fights to stay alive while Maran tries to save her. Çavgeş steps in, saying Shahsu needs to see something important first. She is transported to a desert where three mysterious doors represent life, death, and wisdom. As Shahsu approaches one door, Lilith rises from a well, furious and seeking revenge. Lilith is angry because Shahmaran chose her love over her sister, trapping the sister at the bottom of the well.
