Who is Mukesh Kumar?
Mukesh Kumar is an Indian cricketer, who is a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Since his debut, he has made a significant mark in the international cricket. He plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and represents Bengal in domestic cricket. Mukesh is known to swing the ball in both ways. All in all, he has come a long way from a modest beginning to play cricket for his nation.

On 12 October 1993, Mukesh Kumar was born in the village of Kakarkund, situated in the Gopalganj district of Bihar, India. His father, Kashinath Singh, worked as a taxi driver. He passed away in 2019 after a brain hemorrhage. Mukesh’s mother, Malti Devi, is a homemaker. He was raised alongside her four sisters and an elder brother whose name is Dhanaset.
When it comes to his educational background, Mukesh completed his primary education at VM High School in Gopalganj, Bihar. After that, he did his graduation with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Kamla Rai College, Gopalganj. But, everyone in his family knew that his true passion was in cricket rather than academics.
Mukesh’s financial condition of his house was not good enough. However, it did not stop him from pursuing his passion for cricket. Mukesh faces many difficulties in achieving his determined goal of being the best at his sport.
As of now, he has proved his skillset as a fast bowler and established himself as a key figure in both the domestic and international cricket circuit.

On November 2, 2023, Mukesh tied the knot with Divya Singh, a resident of Chhapra, Gorakhpur. According to reports, for the past few years, Mukesh Kumar was romantically involved with her. Early Career
Mukesh has been very fond of cricket since his teenage years. He began playing cricket with tennis balls in the streets and fields of his village. Even though his family sometimes forced him to focus on his studies, Mukesh remained determined.
In 2008-09, he took part in the Talent Search event, which was held in Gopalganj itself. In seven matches, he bowled and claimed 34 wickets. Next year, in 2010, Mukesh represented Bihar U-19 in the Associate and Affiliate tournaments, which was organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). But because of financial limitations, his family gave studies and a job more importance than his dreams of becoming a cricket player.
In 2012, when he moved to Kolkata, Mukesh joined a cricket club and started working on his bowling skills. There, he played a few tournaments and earned Rs. 500/- per match.
On 30 October 2015, Muket got an opportunity to make a debut during the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season. Then, he debuted in the 2015-16 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 13 December 2015. Whenever he got the chance, he grabbed the opportunity and caught the attention of the team selection committee.
Later, his T20 debut in the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy came on January 6, 2016.

Mukesh Kumar International Career
- Mukesh Kumar’s hard work and dedication paid off when he received his maiden call-up to the Indian cricket team in September 2022. His name came on the list to represent India in the ODI series against South Africa. Then, in December 2022, he was selected to play in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka.
- Mukesh Kumar made it to the Indian team in all three formats during the June 2023 trip to the West Indies. On 20 July 2023, he played his test match at Queen’s Park, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. He took his first test wicket, Kirk Mackenzie, during that match.
- Then Mukesh Kumar never looked back and continued to rise in limited-overs cricket. He made his ODI debut against West Indies on 27 July 2023. There, he took his maiden wicket, with a number of 1/22 from 5 overs. On August 3, 2023, at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, he played his first T20I debut in the opening game of the series against the same opponent.
