After a long wait the most anticipated horror comedy film Chandramukhi 2 arrives on Ott platform. The film “Chandramukhi 2” showcases Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence as the main actors, with Lawrence taking on two different roles. Lakshmi Menon is also featured in a key role, alongside a large supporting cast. This includes Vadivelu, who returns from the first movie, and several others like Raadhika Sarathkumar and Mahima Nambiar.
P. Vasu directed the film and MM Keeravani composed the music, creating a buzz among the audience. The movie was released in theaters on September 28, 2023, contrary to some earlier reports suggesting a September 15 release. This horror-comedy is a follow-up to the well-received 2005 film “Chandramukhi.”
After its theatrical run the movie has finally arrived on the OTT platform in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. This Kangana starrer film has started streaming from Oct 26, 2023 onwards on the Netflix India app.

“Chandramukhi 2” is a horror-comedy film full of mysterious supernatural events. The narrative is rooted in a poignant backstory that takes us back in time, revealing the haunting and tragic tale of Chandramukhi, a female spirit yearning for the love of her life.
The saga unfolds with a wealthy family, facing numerous adversities, moving into the Vettaiyapuram palace. Their intent is to renovate their ancestral temple and perform a puja, a ritual to honor their ancestors. However, little do they know, their actions might rekindle the ghost of Chandramukhi, and unleash the malevolent Vettaiyan, setting the stage for eerie and haunting events to follow.
Amidst the strange occurrences, a woman from the family suffers from dissociative identity disorder, adding to the complexity of the enigmatic situation. Their quest for solutions leads them to reunite with long-lost relatives and pray to their deity, unknowingly reawakening a centuries-old feud between a classical dancer, Chandramukhi, and Vettaiyan Raja.
As the family endeavors to honor their ancestors, they awaken Chandramukhi’s spirit. The possession of their daughter by this spirit presents a perilous dilemma. A fearless friend steps into the fray, attempting to salvage the situation, embarking on a perilous journey to confront the eerie mysteries that now shroud the family.
Through a blend of horror and comedy, “Chandramukhi 2” weaves a tale of love, mystery, and the supernatural, leading to a riveting narrative that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

Chandramukhi 2 Box Office Collection
The film “Chandramukhi 2” starring Kangana Ranaut had a total box office collection of Rs 58 crores in India, as reported. This figure reflects the earnings accrued over the film’s theatrical run, likely extending up to October 26, 2023.
Previously, different sources highlighted varying box office collections at different points in time. For instance, a sum of Rs 32.95 crore was reported as of October 5, 2023, and another report indicated earnings of Rs 28.95 crore at a presumably earlier date.
As the film continued to screen in theaters, its earnings gradually increased, reaching the reported figure of Rs 58 crores by October 26, 2023. Despite this, the film’s lifetime earnings fell slightly short of its reported budget of Rs 60 crores.
