Netflix’s “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” (2024) is an exciting new animated series that continues the story from the “Jurassic World” franchise. Created by Scott Kreamer and Zack Stentz, the series features the voices of Paul-Mikél Williams as Darius Bowman, Darren Barnet as Kenji Kon, and Sean Giambrone as Ben Pincus, among others. The story follows a group of young adults who find themselves in a dangerous world full of dinosaurs. Set after the events of “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,” “Chaos Theory” explores how the survivors of Isla Nublar’s disaster cope with the mystery of their friend Brooklynn’s death.
Plot Summary
It has now been a few years since Darius, Kenji, Sammy, Yaz, Ben, and Brooklynn managed to flee Isla Nublar, filled with dinosaurs, in “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.” They survived against all odds, but this time the whole world remains under threat because it is not only a couple of islands near the coast of Costa Rica where these reptiles are found but the whole world!
In this new era of the Jurassic Age, there are dinosaurs and people living together. But things aren’t so bleak when there’s the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife (DPW). DPW prevents dangerous dinos from reaching humans and, if possible, moves them into reserves.
However, DPW isn’t always successful. They stayed in touch for a while after that, but not for long, as Brooklynn was killed by a dinosaur while she worked as an investigative journalist.
Darius missed out on meeting her before her death, which makes him feel like he had a part to play in Brooklyn’s death. But Ben says it wasn’t Darius’ fault. He wonders why Brooklynn wanted to meet that night, how a dinosaur appeared downtown without anybody noticing it first, and why the DPW delayed its response.
From Ben’s perspective, the one who targeted Brooklynn remains unidentified. Contrarily, Darius challenges this and fails to realize any anomaly until more dinosaurs pounce on his friends from Camp Cretaceous.
They will have to bring together the Nublar Six, solve their conflicts, and dig out what resulted in Brooklyn’s death.

Darius was still grappling with the death of his friend Brooklynn, who was killed by a dinosaur. He felt immense guilt for not being there when she needed him most. Things took a dark turn when Ben, one of their group members, discovered via a website called Dark Jurassic that her death wasn’t an accident but intentional. From this point on, Ben told Darius to alert Sammy, Yaz, and Kenji—their friends and protect them.
At first, Darius questioned Ben’s assertions because he had a habit of being paranoid about minor things. However, upon some proof from Ben, he realized there was truth in it.
Raptors were suddenly assaulting him at different times, yet he couldn’t understand why. The day Ben came over to see him, the fence around Darius’ house was broken so that dinosaurs could get in. Narrowly escaping along with Ben, they decided to inform Sammy after all. They went to Sammy’s house and informed her about their suspicions. She found it hard to believe that Brooklynn died of anything but an accident. The three of them got suddenly attacked by a raptor at her but managed to escape with the help of their pet dinosaur, Bumpy.
The three of them decided to visit Kenji’s house. Sammy revealed that she had found a map in Brooklynn’s pocket with a location marked on it. Darius felt uneasy about this, as he hadn’t spoken to Kenji since Brooklynn’s death, which had strained their relationship. He was unsure how to face him. Moreover, Brooklynn had gone to meet Kenji’s father, and they did not know why.

Kenji let Darius know he was still mad at him. Kenji thought that Darius’ recklessness had led to the death of Brooklynn. Kenji and Brooklynn had been dating, but their relationship ended just before she died. For Kenji, however, it was a very deep feeling. On the other hand, Brooklynn herself seemed preoccupied with other things.
Darius felt uncomfortable around Kenji already, and matters worsened when Ben and Sammy went to brief Yaz about the danger they were in. Since Yaz lived on an island where dinosaurs could not get on, there was no cause for alarm initially. Nevertheless, the threat was real, and soon dinosaurs invaded the island, resulting in Yaz having to flee for her life together with Ben and Sammy.
Meanwhile, Darius faced difficulties explaining his side of the story to a hostile Kenji, who would not listen. Finally, after some time passed, he decided that he should ask his dad what happened with Brooklynn and if he knew anything about her passing away. Then Mr. Kon stated something even more shocking, like that it is possible that even Brooklynns might be involved in dinosaur poaching for financial reasons. Both Darius and Kenji couldn’t believe it. But before he could say anything more: raptors attacked, as a strange woman with a whistle controlled them, leading to Mr. Kon’s death.
Darius and Kenji fled and were given a ride by Mateo, a DPW driver. He led them to Brooklynn’s secret home, where they found a bag full of money, which implied that she could have been involved in some illegal activities. Apparently, Brooklynn had sent Darius a video just before she was killed, but he had not received it yet.
As Ben Sammy and Yaz drove into the compound where the dinosaurs were kept, the plot thickened. There, they saw Dudley Cabrera, a DPW officer, and realized something significant was happening behind the scenes.
What Really Happened To Brooklynn?
Darius and Kenji joined up in “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,” while Ben and Sammy were searching for Yaz. They traced their investigations to a DPW warehouse at the harbor that was being used as a loading bay for many dinosaurs on board an enormous container ship destined for all parts of the globe. The person in charge of this enterprise was Dudley Cabrera, one of DPW’s regional directors.
From social media influencer to investigative journalist, Brooklynn has morphed into something else. After her encounters with dinosaurs, she started investigating how they were treated by the DPW. She learned that the DPW was smuggling these animals for huge sums of money. When Brooklynn attempted to expose this act, Cabrera lured her into a trap with an allosaurus, but something went wrong, and Brooklynn was ostensibly killed. Nevertheless, it wasn’t Cabrera who deployed Velociraptors on the other members of the Nublar Six. Surprisingly, it was done by a woman with a whistle.
“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” Ending Explained: Who Were The Ones Doing Illegal Trade?
Towards the end of Chaos Theory, it was evident that Dudley Cabrera was not the boss of a poaching syndicate. There were others above him who made all the decisions. The “Raptor Girl,” who had been calling out orders to dinosaurs through a whistle, returned and planned Cabrera’s death. Cabrera thought he was the chief conduit for this group, but he was wrong. He got shocked upon realizing that it was actually Raptor Girl who ordered that Brooklynn be attacked, hence leading her to die. He only wanted to frighten her, so its occurrence came as a surprise.
Darius and his friends had a tense encounter with the Raptor Girl and managed to escape despite the odds being against them.
In the final scenes, they witnessed dinosaurs being loaded onto a cargo ship bound for an unknown destination. They overheard talk of someone called “The Broker,” realizing this person was the true mastermind behind the operation. Determined to uncover the full truth and aware that their lives were still at risk, Darius and his friends decided to board the ship.
The lady with the whistle was actually working for some man named “The Broker.” When Cabrera threatened to break all connections between DPW and buyers, she released her Velociraptors on him, which resulted in his death. She then focused on the children, but they survived by a minute thanks to Mateo, who had unknowingly brought an allosaurus that killed Brooklynn.
Chaos ensued as Darius and others set free all caged dinosaurs. The woman with the whistle and her Velociraptors were injured and forced to withdraw before the arrival of police officers. Although on the surface things seemed settled, the team realized that they still knew nothing about that company trading dinosaurs or its assassin, who had attempted to murder them all. Determined to find out what was going on, Darius resolved to get aboard this ship and look for whoever called himself “The Broker.” The remaining members of the group joined him in order to avenge Brooklynn’s death and stop their pursuers’ attacks against themselves as well as other people who associate with them.
Mateo chose not to join Nublar Six because he thought about his own safety more than anything else at the moment. Still, he agreed to look after the rescued dinosaurs including Bumpy’s newborn baby, showing his gentle nature despite having no feelings towards their cause whatsoever.
Is Brooklynn Alive?
On the cruise ship, Darius and his team received shocking news. Ronnie, a DPW officer, texted Cabrera’s death to Brooklynn through an encrypted messaging application. Despite being believed to have been killed by Allosaurus, Brooklynn was not only alive but was also doing her own investigations. Though she lost a hand, she was bent on unearthing the secrets of a crime syndicate. She could have been hidden somewhere, watching how things were going with her friends. Season 2 might see Brooklynn go after “The Broker” and expose his corrupt activities. I feel she was framed and had nothing to do with the illegal trade. Season two might see Brooklynn come together again with her friends as they try to bring culprits to book while keeping dinosaurs safe.
