Plot Summary
The movie is about Benj, a high school first-year student who wants to reinvent himself to woo his elder sister’s friend, Bailey, who is a sophomore at the same school. His two other friends, Eddie and Connor, are also excited to make a new identity of themselves and his other friend Koosh, wants to live up to his brother’s reputation.
Introducing Friends
The movie starts with Benj and his elder sister Alyssa getting ready for school. Then Bailey, Alyssa’s friend, comes in and Benj has a massive crush on her, but he can’t come up with the courage to propose to her. Alyssa and Bailey leave for school while Benj is assigned a carpool by the school with a senior named Adam Rubens, who turns out to be the worst person in the school, according to Alyssa. Connor and Eddie come to school in school bus and are made fun of even before school starts. On the other hand, Koosh travels with his elder brother, who does not like his younger brother to go with their surname Koosh, because according to him, it’s a ‘brand’ and he has to earn to be called Koosh and before that, he will have to go with his first name, Danah. All four friends meet near the school. And that’s when Danah leaked the information about the party over the weekend.Â
What Happened After School With Benj?
As said by Alyssa earlier in Benj’s carpool, Rubens is not a good guy. He sells vitamin D tablets to shady guys by calling them drugs. He involved Benj in his fraudulent drug sale while selling it to some skateboarders. Rubens assures Benj that what he is doing is safe because he carries a lightning rod with him all the time. During the time of the sale, Rubens lies that Benj is the chef. Rubens sold 30 pieces for 300 dollars and came back with Benj without being caught.
What Is Danah’s Meet-Cute Plan?
Danah promised his other three friends, including Benj, would be the only freshmen invited to the party. But on the day of the party, Danah gave the news that his elder brother can allow only one extra first-year student to the party and Benj was the one who got the chance to go to the party with Danah. Eddie and Connor went back home furiously. Inside the surveillance room, Danah elaborates on his meet-cute plan to Benj, as he plans to hook up with a senior to make his elder brother respect him. Benj is not comfortable with Danah’s plan but decides to stay behind with Danah in the surveillance room so that he can make an outstanding entrance when Bailey arrives.
What Did Eddie And Connor Decide To Do Out Of Boredom?
Eddie and Conner were already angry that they couldn’t attend the party, so they decided to take Eddie’s mother’s boyfriend’s electric car out for a drive to have ice cream. Then they came up with the plan to drop by at Danah’s party. And that’s where the situation went downhill. Katrina’s friends thought Eddie and Conner to be Katrina’s Uber. Katrina was severely drunk and was not in a condition to say anything. The duo, being a gentleman, thought about dropping her at her house, but Katrina could not even remember her address. She asked them to take her to a Taco Bell. After eating at a Taco Bell, Katrina fell asleep in the car. The duo started feeling hopeless and decided to go through her purse, find her ID and get her address. But making the situation worse, Katrina has already shitted in the car making it dirty.
What’s Happening Between Benj And Bailey?
Benj asked Bailey for a beer and sat beside the pool to talk in peace. Bailey asked Benj about his experience in high school and if he had had a crush yet. Benj confessed that he likes a girl but is hesitant to say anything because he is scared that she might not be into him. And at the moment they are about to kiss, everything is ruined as one of their fun professors in high school Prof. Studebaker comes in showing off how to blow fire from his mouth, completely drunk and falls into the pool. After some time, when a fight between senior Koosh and the skater boys was on, Benj and Bailey escaped the place and entered an empty room. Both of them expressed their feelings and kissed.
Why Did The Guys Who Bought Fake Drugs Come To The Party?
The skater guys who bought fake drugs from Reubens came to the party to beat Reubens and Benj for selling them fake drugs. The party is interrupted because of the commotion. The elder Koosh had to solve the situation, which eventually showed his power. But Reubens made a rookie mistake and electrocuted one of the skater guys, which started a fight between the boys. But the fight between them made them friends and Benj transformed into a famous first-year student among them.
How Did Danah’s Plan About Meet-Cute Go?
Danah stuck to his plan. He kept on searching for the perfect senior he could woo and eventually found one. Danah invited her to the VIP bathroom as their other bathroom was not working. He purposely locked them inside and lied that they had been locked by mistake. Danah tried to calm the air and woo her with a massage. That senior girl was uncomfortable with the situation but decided to go along. After the massage, Danah asked her to take a dip in the hot tub, and that he would also join her. But Danah slipped, fell and dislocated his shoulder, which made him tell the truth to that girl that he had a spare key with him and had been lying all along. The girl opened the door and left.
How Are The Situations The Next Day?
Benj was invited by some seniors, and they gave him something to sniff, which Benj thought was coke. But it, in reality, is Ketamine, used on animals. The party was over, and the police came and evacuated the house. Danah is in the Emergency Room for his dislocated shoulder, Alyssa is also there because she broke her nose. The next day, Benj and Alyssa are severely scolded by their mother, and there are scribbles all over Benj’s face and Benj is grounded. Benj confessed to his sister that he might have messed things up. She advised her younger brother just to be himself and not try being something else which he is not. On the other hand, Katrina wakes up in Eddie’s house dressed in his clothes. The previous night, they had pretty crazy plans to leave Katrina on the road, but they didn’t. Katrina wakes up furious and confused, and they try to calm her down and explain the situation. Katrina suddenly remembered everything that happened and how Eddie and Conner had helped her. Katrina leaves in embarrassment.
Incoming Ending Explained
After the weekend, Eddie’s mother’s boyfriend dropped him off at school. He always thought of Eddie as a nerd and mamma’s boy, but Eddie has changed. He spoke against him and gained unexpected respect. All the friends meet at school again. Danah also realised that his brother might not be a good person and would like to be called Danah with pride. All the students were asked to come to the gym as the school had some announcements. Katrina asked Eddie and Conor to come sit with them and also helped them from some bullies and called them her friends. She is thankful to them and apologises for all the mess she has created. After all the announcements were made, Benj took the stage and started singing a song, dedicating it to Bailey proposing to her. Bailey said No to Benj’s proposal which made him look like a fool in front of the entire school. But while leaving the gym, Bailey winks at Benj, which means he may have a chance with her in the future.
