Geetanjali Kulkarni is an Indian actress who has worked primarily in Marathi and Hindi cinema. She is an NSD pass out, having worked in several big and small scale movies. Geetanjali is best known for playing Shanti Mishra in Sony Liv’s most watched family entertainer web series ‘Gullak‘. The series was created by TVF that depicts the drama of a middle class family, which is relatable to most of us.
Prior to this, she played ‘Sushila Sekhar’ in Ram Madhvani’s Arya, which released in 2021 on Disney Hotstar app.
Most recently, Geetanjali is seen in Vineet Kumar Singh starrer web series Rangbaaz Darr Ki Rajneeti, streaming on Zee5 OTT platform.

Geetanjali Kulkarni was born on 29 June 1973, in Powai, Mumbai, in a middle class Hindu Maharashtrian family. She lived in Powai at Shraddhamata society. Geetanjali did her early education from Kendriya Vidyalaya (Powai) and completed her graduation from Ramnarain Ruia College of Science and Arts. During her childhood she used to do dancing, singing and performing skits. She was totally a theatre person, after finishing her studies she joined National School of Drama (NSD) in Delhi and started her career as a theatre artist.

Geetanjali met her soulmate Atul Kulkarni at NSD in 1993, who is 8 years older than her. After dating for 3 years they got married on December 26, 1996. While Atul was an established actor at that time, Geetanjali was a newcomer and an aspiring actress, therefore, they prioritised their work and decided not to have kids.

Geetanjali Kulkarni wanted to be an actor since childhood, therefore she enrolled at NSD in 1993 and after graduating from National School of Drama in 1996, she made her debut in Theatre and participated in several stage shows. Which helped her grew as an actress.

Geetanjali made her OTT debut in 2018 from Netflix original series ‘Selection Day‘, where she played the character of Geeta. Couple of years later, Netflix repeated her in a prominent role in romance drama series, Taj Mahal 1989. Other actors who joined the cast of Taj Mahal 1989 are Neeraj Kabi, Sheeba Chadda and Danish Husain.
In 2020, Geetanjali appeared in MX Player web series ‘Operation MBBS‘, the series was produced by Dice Media who always produce content around real life problems. Even in this series, the makers have highlighted the issues and challenges faced by MBBS students.
Following year, Geetanjali was signed by Ram Madhvani Films to play the cop in most promising series ‘Arya‘. The series was a big hit but all the attention went to the star of the show, Sushmita Sen.
In 2022, Geetanjali played Mrs Dalal in Kannada political drama series ‘Humble Politician Nograj‘, produced under the banner of Applause Entertainment and released on the Voot App.

And Geetanjali as a mother ‘Shanti Mishra’ along with co-actors Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar gave amazing performances which broke all the records, and it became Sony Liv’s most watched web series of the year.
Following the success of the series, TVF in association with Sony Liv produced two more seasons: Gullak 2 & 3, which raised the bar for contender platforms.
