Plot Summary

The main character, Dr. Noh Yeong-Won, is a well-known psychiatrist whose life starts to unravel when a mysterious figure begins to blackmail her. As Yeong-Won digs deeper, she finds startling truths about her family and friends.

The story revolves around what appears to be an ideal family, but every member harbors secrets that could destroy them. Yeong-Won’s husband, Choi Jae-Jin, is a leading surgeon facing his own issues, and her mother-in-law, Hong Sa-Gang, is a digital novelist seeking fame while concealing a dark past linked to Yeong-Won.

With each episode, the suspense builds. Yeong-Won gets disturbing items from the blackmailer, like a headless bird and a toy car with eerie messages. The plot becomes more complex when Yeong-Won’s new patient, Lee Se-Na, arrives with unclear intentions and a hidden past.

This drama is more than a story of blackmail and revenge. It’s an in-depth look at human nature, the lengths people will go to protect their loved ones, and the price of hiding the truth. The central question is: How far will Yeong-Won go to find the final answer, and what will she sacrifice for her redemption?

Clarity comes when a private detective, Jung Doo-man, arrives and presents Yeong-Won and her mother-in-law, Hong Sa-Gang, with photos showing Choi Jae-Jin’s affair with Se-na. Reflecting on past conversations, Yeong-Won remembers Se-na talking about an unreciprocated love for someone trapped in an unhappy marriage and wanting them to get a divorce. The meaning of the gifts—a dead bird, a toy car, and a wine bottle—now becomes clear.

Piecing everything together, Yeong-Won confronts Se-na and discovers the affair between Se-na and her husband, connecting all the blackmail incidents. Jung Doo-man also shares proof of Choi Jae-Jin’s affair with Se-na.
