Alia Bhatt is an Indian actress born in Mumbai on 15th March 1993. She is the daughter of famous filmmaker ‘Mahesh Bhatt‘. Alia is best known for playing Shanaya Singhania in Student of the Year (2012), which was also her debut movie in a lead role. Most recently she was seen in the most controversial movie ‘Gangubai Kathiyawadi‘, which won her critics award.
In July 2022, Alia made her debut as a producer from movie Darlings co-produced with Shahrukh Khan’s home banner ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’. She was last seen with Shahrukh in Dear Zindagi. Alia has had several affairs in the past. When she was in 6th standard, she had an affair with classmate Ramesh Dubey. When she was promoted to class 8th, she had a boyfriend named Ali Dadakar.

Debut and Career
Alia has been a film maniac since childhood. Only a few people know that Alia has been acting since childhood. Her debut movie as a child actor was Ashutosh Rana’s starrer Sangharsh, released in 1999. Where she played the childhood of Preity Zinta.
At the age of 19, she made her debut as ‘Shanaya Singhania‘ in a lead role in the movie ‘Student of the Year‘, released in 2012. According to the news reports, Alia auditioned along with 500 other girls but Karan Johar selected her. At that time Alia had a lot of weight, therefore Karan asked her to lose a few pounds before commencing the shoot. Which Alia achieved in 3 months, she lost almost 16 kgs for the film.
The movie went well at the box office and Alia was well noticed. After that there was no looking back, she signed several movies like Highway (2016) where she played the victim who got kidnapped in a popular road drama thriller.
