Who is Vineet Kumar Singh?
Vineet Kumar Singh is an actor born on 28 August 1978 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He is a qualified Medical Practitioner having Bachelors degree in Ayurveda from RA Poddar Medical College, and MD in Ayurveda from Govt. Medical College, Nagpur. Vineet is a critically acclaimed actor, who got nominated for the Filmfare award for his performance in Anurag Kashyap’s directional movie ‘Mukkabaaz’, released in 2018. In this movie, Vineet played the role of the aspiring boxer. Prior to shoot, He went through rigorous training to get into the skin of the character.
Vineet Kumar Singh is also known for his role as Danish Khan in web series Gangs of Wasseypur. Apart from that, he also appeared in Netflix original series Bard of Blood (2019) and Betaal (2020). Most recently his new web series Rangbaaz Darr Ki Rajneeti is streaming on Zee5 OTT Platform. In Rangbaaz he is playing the character of a goon turned politician ‘Haroon Shah Ali Baig‘, which is inspired from the life of Bihar’s politician Mohammad Shahabuddin.

Vineet’s younger sister Mukti Singh Srinet (aka Tripti Singh) is a gold medalist in Bachelor and Master of Physical Education. On top of that, she has done Ph.D in Philosophy in 2017. Speaking of her profession, she is a writer and an assistant professor. Vineet also has a brother, whose name is not known to us.

Debut and Career
After completing his education, Vineet Kumar Singh came to Mumbai to participate in Superstars Talent Hunt, judged by Mahesh Manjrekar. Which he won, therefore Mahesh gave him his first break in Hindi Bollywood film. At the age of 24, he made his debut from Sanjay Dutt’s starrer movie Pitaah, released in 2002. However, the movie could not do much at the box office. In 2003, Vineet took a break and started assisting Mahesh Manjrekar, he assisted Mahesh in couple of projects such as Viruddh (2005) and Deh.
In the beginning of 2007, Vineet left the assistant’s director job and started focusing on acting. Despite having good acting skills, luck did not favour him and his work in several movies went unnoticed.

In 2012, director Anurag Kashyap casted him in ‘The Gangs of Wasseypur‘ (1&2) as Danish Khan, where his work was noticed and he got some recognition. Subsequently, he signed 5 movies Isaaq, Short, Bombay Talkies, Ugly, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein but the roles in these movies were not promising and he was still struggling for the big break.
The major break through in his career came in 2018, when he approached Anurag Kashyap with a movie script of Mukkabaaz, and he accepted it with a condition that Vineet has to get himself trained as a boxer, along with that, he suggested little modifications in the script.
After the movie got released, critics and audience applauded his performance. Later the movie was presented at the Toronto and Mumbai Film Festival. Vineet got nominated for the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.
Following year, Vineet Kumar Singh played Milan Shukla in Daas Dev, which garnered a lot of appreciation.
