There is no doubt Alia has got better with every movie, she not only plays the character but lives it. We have seen some gripping performances from Alia Bhatt in movies like Highway, Raazi, and Gully Boy. Most recently the way she essayed the character of Gangubai Kathiawadi is really commendable. Infact, before release of the movie critics questioned her being casted in the film. Many people said she looks young and there are better choices. However, Alia zipped haters’ mouths with her astounding performance, not just that, she bagged more films in her kitty.
As always Alia will be seen playing a unique character in Darlings, which is also her debut movie as a producer. The movie is co-produced with Shahrukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Eternal Sunshine Productions and directed by Jasmeet K Reen. Last time she was seen with king khan in Dear Zindagi released in 2016.
Darlings – Releasing on 5 August 2022 – Directed by Jasmeet K Reen
Darlings is a dark comedy where Alia is playing the daughter of Shefali Shah. Other cast in the lead roles are Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. The official trailer of the movie released on 5th July 2022 and the movie is set to release on 5th August 2022 exclusively on Netflix.
As per the news sources, Netflix bought the film rights back in February 2022. Therefore, the movie will not be released in theaters.
Brahmastra Part One : Shiva – Releasing on 9 September 2022 – Directed by Ayan Mukherji
Alia’s much discussed movie ‘Brahmastra’ will hit theaters on 9 September 2022. The movie is directed by Ayan Mukherji and produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. The main cast of the film are Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Divyenndu, Dimple Kapadia, Chetna Pandey, Saurav Gurjar, Paras Arora, Madhumalti Kapoor and Mouni Roy the mysterious queen of darkness…
The film is planned to be released in 3 major languages : Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Aashiqui 3 – Releasing on 14 Nov 2022 – Directed by Mohit Suri
Next movie in line is Aashiqui 3, which is the sequel of 1990 hit film Aashiqui. The main cast of the film are Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhavan and Jhanvi Kapoor. As the name suggests the film is going to be a romantic drama thriller.
The film is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The movie will be released on 14th November 2022.
Inshallah – Releasing on 5 Nov 2022 – Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Inshallah which was supposed to release on 5th November 2022 has been shelved due to creative differences between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan. According to the news sources Bhansali wants to work with Salman but thinks he has changed. Bhansali also revealed in an interview that he respects Salman Khan as they worked on many successful films in the past. He also added that Salman was the first choice for Bajirao Mastani and that is why the film got delayed. Now it is up to Salman whether he wants to work with him or not.
Takht – Release Date Not Confirmed – Karan Johar
Another most anticipated film ‘Takht’ starring Alia Bhatt has been in post production since 2021. According to the media report the movie shoot halted due to covid crisis, as it was a kind of movie which needed a lot of people on the set which wasn’t possible due to covid restrictions. Also, we heard some news that the movie got shelved due to creative differences, however, Karan has confirmed that Takht is his dream project like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and it will happen right after Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He also added, ‘I gave it two and half years, it is my dream project, I can’t let it go’.
Therefore, the movie is definitely going to be released but the date is not yet confirmed.
The movie is based on Mughal era which shows the enmity between brothers caused for the succession of the throne.
Apart from Alia Bhatt, the other cast in pivotal roles are Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Anil Kapoor.
Vicky Kausal is playing Aurangzeb and Ranveer Singh is playing the elder brother Dara Shukoh.

Rocky Aur Rani ki Prem Kahani – Releasing on 10 Feb 2023 – Directed by Karan Johar
Alia Bhatt Movies releasing next year are Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which is a romantic drama film directed by Karan Johan and produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom 18 Studios. The movie features Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, Tota Roy Chaudhary, Churni Ganguli as the main cast.
The movie is expected to release on 10 February 2023. Most probably it is going to be a theatrical release.
Jee Le Zaraa – Releasing in 2023 – Directed by Farhan Akhtar
Another Bollywood Hindi movie which was announced in August 2021 is expected to release next year in 2023. Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif are the main highlights of the film. In an interview Priyanka Chopra said ‘I am really excited about this movie because after a long time I will be speaking hindi dialogues’, she told Farhan so ‘I better be dancing’.
The movie is about a road trip on female friendships similar to Dil Chahta Hai.
